PetBuddy Insurance is an independent pet insurance comparison service. We built it for one simple reason: sorting through pet insurance plans should not require a spreadsheet, a free evening, and a chemistry set.
If you've ever tried to compare two policies side by side, you know what we mean. Different insurers use different words for the same thing. Waiting periods, annual caps, reimbursement percentages, exclusions — every plan looks reasonable in isolation and impossible to line up against the next one. So most people either pick a name they recognize or give up and hope nothing goes wrong.
We think you deserve better than "hope nothing goes wrong." That's why we built the quiz.
Who's behind this
PetBuddy Insurance is run by Nate Dubin and Matan Segev, a two-person team with backgrounds in digital marketing and paid media. We spend a lot of our working lives figuring out how to connect people with products they actually need — and we started PetBuddy because pet insurance is a category where that connection is genuinely broken. Too many pet parents find out how their plan works only when they file their first claim, and by then it's too late to switch.
We're not veterinarians and we're not insurance agents. We're a small independent team that reads the fine print so you don't have to, matches you to the plans that fit your pet, and hands you off to the insurer for the actual quote.

Nate lives with Bingo — an old, opinionated dog who has strong feelings about mealtimes and none about affiliate marketing. Bingo is the reason a lot of the copy on this site sounds like it was written by someone who's actually stood in a vet's office holding an estimate. Because it was.
How we make money (and why it doesn't skew what you see)
PetBuddy Insurance is free for you to use. When you click through to an insurer and get a quote or buy a policy, we may earn a commission from that insurer — at no extra cost to you. The insurer pays the commission out of their marketing budget; it does not change your price.
We have commercial relationships with some of the insurers we feature. We're upfront about it. What we won't do is show you a plan just because it pays us better — the ranking is based on how well the plan fits your pet's species, age, and what you told us matters most. If we ever change that, we'll say so on this page.
